Child's Play | Scream Factory Collector's Edition | Blu-ray | 1988/2016

Friends 'til the end! I knew the first Child's Play, and I'm almost sure I had seen the original two sequels, but it really wasn't until Universal took over the franchise and gave us Bride of Chucky that the wave of home video releases brought me to the true joys of Chucky. The original I remembered mostly for Dinah Manoff, who I was very familiar with from TV's Empty Nest. Once I moved to Chicago, I got more and more vested into the production and the shooting locations, including The Brewster which I lived next door to for a few years. I've probably looked up at that window more than anyone 😁. The original elevator and iron work are still present, which is very reminiscent of another famous filming location-the Bradbury Building in Downtown Los Angeles. This edition was given much praise from the media, the critics, and the fans for its depth of features and picture. Do you have this edition? The Return of the Living Dead | Scream Factory Collector's Edition | Blu-Ray | 1985/2016

The Return of the Living Dead has received quite the second life in the last 15 years. I grew up only knowing Part 2, and it remains one of my favorites. But when MGM did a great DVD release in 2002 I was finally introduced to the original, and a special edition followed in 2007 with amazing features (especially for horror at that time). This version from Scream Factory, released to coincide with the 30th Anniversary, is a great digital upgrade in Blu-ray format restoring most of the original audio and music tracks (another story, another day) while adding great new content on the makeup and FX. New 'Friday the 13th' Prequel Series Gets the Green Light

Have you heard?! VARIETY first reported this morning to kick off Halloween Day. Executive produced by Bryan Fuller (Queer for Fear, Hannibal, Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies), Victor Miller (Friday the 13th-1980), Marc Toberoff (Piranha-2010, Fantasy Island-2020, Hellraiser-2022), & Rob Barsamian (Crystal Lake Memories, Friday the 13th: The Game), "Crystal Lake" will serve as a prequel series to the original Friday the 13th movie (1980) and is being helmed by A24, the studio that brought you "X", "Pearl", "Moonlight", "Midsommar", & "Hereditary". Details about the new series are under wraps, but it has been given a full series order at streamer Peacock (NBC/Comcast). To me, this is such good news!! I have been begging for a prequel series based on everyone's favorite mother, Pamela Vorhees, for YEARS and I feel that streaming is the way to go. I'm a little disappointed about Peacock being the platform, I th
